Welcome to the Challenge
“The journey to your best box tie is often more nerdy than hot. It can involve deep diving into body mechanics, precise tension management, historical context and stylistic lineages, and more. Just because it’s not easy immediately doesn’t mean it’s not available to you, if you want to pursue it!” - fuoco, To Box Tie or not to Box tie? The big debate The Box tie is not the most friendly of harnesses, yet it’s still quite common for all kind of reasons. If you are interested in using it or being tied in it, this challenge is just for you. Get super geeky about details, and take time to try them all on and map the differences. Let us know what you discover, and if you have any questions, Community is a great place to start up conversations.
Before you begin
Safety
This challenge is all about exploration, and that’s always a bit risky. You must have completed our safety courses 101, 201, 301 or comparable classes focused on nerve anatomy, nerve injuries, injury management, and injury treatment. Comfort communicating from within rope / receiving feedback and making modifications while tying. We recommend reading fuoco’s article “To Box Tie or not to Box tie? The big debate” and reviewing “All about Shoulders”.
